Kempton Bead Fair has been & gone. Long drive but I stayed over at Mum’s so wasn’t too bad. Hate driving on the M25 at night when it’s dark & busy. I was very tense, but survived!

The fair was quiet, but we did ok. We were next to Tuffnell’s stand so Martin entertained us & gave us cake.

Next fair is Harrogate – 2 days & usually very worth going to. Having missed out in October I am really looking forward to it, although I’ll need plenty of stock.

It’s getting lighter in the evenings so that means I can work later without having to use lights.

I had a weekend in the studio and have made loads of beads, some good, some not so good but it’s great just being in there with plenty of ideas. Still have lots to do before Kempton but I still have a bit of time left.

Happy New Year!
So far the new one hasn’t been much of an improvement on the old one.
Not much torch time, problems health-wise but I have a wonderful family who are always there for me to be thankful for 🙂

New resolutions – make more beads, list more beads, sell more beads. I’m starting a new study course which I am excited about after the success of the last one.

The pretty snow has been replaced with dreary rain but the days are getting lighter and warmer.

The bead fair starts soon with Kempton on 6th February and I really looking forward to seeing everyone again.

I’ve just spent the week flat on my back in hospital.
No work, no beads, total boredom.
Just as well I had a TV, phone and limited access to the internet!
Not sure how long it will be before I feel like going anywhere near my torch, but with Harrogate Bead Fair only two weeks away, I’d rather it was sooner than later.

I made some very nice beads and was on a roll. It’s been that sort of year.

Today is both a happy and a sad day.

Happy because we moved here 4 years ago today, and sad because it is 6 months since I lost my little cat 🙁

I’ve been busy – made a couple of cute frog beads, sorted out the pond leak (I think) then went through another three boxes from the loft and found all our competition stuff from when we used to rally. Definite trip down memory lane!

I’m going to be busy teaching this week with 3 new students then Hatfield Bead Fair on Sunday where I’ll be demoing.

I don’t seem to be any further forward than I was at the end of July!

I have a few beads under my belt, another couple of pieces of jewellery, bit further on my course and a (small) pile of empty boxes cluttering up the bathroom (don’t ask).

Becky & I did a reasonably successful car boot & I hope to do another couple before I have to go back to work.

Long time since I wrote anything in here. Each time I logged in I saw Yue and it was too emotional for me. Still is, but I’ve decided to carry on and get another post on here.
I am in the middle of the summer holidays and I am really busy with all sorts of tasks.
My house is stuffed to overflowing with ‘stuff’ and I’ve given myself the job of unstuffing it. Easier said than done!
On top of that I need some bead time – I have managed a few sessions but I seem to have lost my inspiration after a 4 week gap in time at the torch. I’m slowly gaining some back, but progress is slow 🙁
Jewellery is next on my list – I have made a couple of pieces but not many. I have recently become a founder member of a new craft association – The Fenland Craft Guild – which will promote real handmade crafts in this corner of the country.
If that isn’t enough I have some studying to do. I am doing a school business manager course which is incredibly time consuming. On the home run now though.

Yue

Well far from enjoying half term, this has got to be one of the worst.

My beautiful little black & white cat, Yue, is really sick. She disappeared for a day and came back ill. We think she ate something she shouldn’t have, maybe whilst locked in a garage, and now her liver isn’t functioning properly and neither is she. She can’t move properly, she isn’t eating or drinking. She is on so many tablets she must rattle. And she’s only 2. I just want her to be better.

Half term at last! A chance to make beads and have a play with the glass for a week.

Kempton Bead Fair went well – we’ll do it again in September.

Since then though it’s been busy at work, and I’ve got a sick husband and a sick cat at home.

Essex bead Fair next, 28th February.
